Sania to lead India at Fed Cup event
[Mon Jan , 22:58:37]Sania Mirza will lead the Indian campaign at the Fed Cup Asia/Oceania Zone Group II tournament. The Indian team is of six members comprising Sania Mirza, Poojashree Venkatesh, Rushmi Chakravarthy, Sanaa Bhambri, Ankita Raina and Shivika Burman. Poojashree gave brilliant performance last year winning four ITF Futures titles out of five.
The event is held at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and is supposed to start next month. Last year India was beaten by the Taiwan with 0-3 record.
Mirza was not part of the team at Fed Cup last year due to the abdominal injury. Neither had she played in 2008.
